My Bucket List

Grand Cayman Island
Whether you realize it or not, you probably have a bucket list. If you disagree with me, take the time think about if you’ve ever thought, “wow, I would love to go there or do that” and then let me know if you still disagree. It almost seems like human nature to want to do extraordinary thing. Seriously, who wouldn’t LOVE to go to somewhere crazy like Australia? I understand some bucket lists are crazier than others and maybe some people might aspire to take up cooking or something simple like that. I’ve struggled internally with creating a realistic bucket list with goals than I can actually accomplish. Although there are many things on my bucket list, I’m only going to explain a few of my desires.

I’m going to group all my traveling dreams into one point. The places I most want to travel are Aruba, Ireland and Italy. If you’ve read my previous blog, you know that I recently took a cruise to the Western Caribbean over spring break. Based on that experience, pictures I’ve seen and opinions I’ve heard, Aruba appears to be a dream destination in the Southern Caribbean. I’ve only started looking into all-inclusive resorts or cruises that stop in Aruba, but whenever I get to looking I spend countless hours planning a dream vacation for myself upon graduation from college.

Trip to Spain
Now, if you’ve read previous blogs of mine in general, you know I’ve been to Spain. My trip to Spain inspired me to travel more in Europe someday. My main goal would be to backpack through Europe one summer, but I’ve managed to narrow my European tour to only Italy and Europe. Two of my best friends went to Italy when they were in high school and absolutely loved the experience. They showed me pictures and talked about all the things they did and I instantly fell in love. I’ve also had some friends travel abroad to Ireland and have seen their pictures of the beautiful country. In high school, I gave a presentation about Ireland and all its history so I got the opportunity to learn and appreciate the country. I would love to see the whole world, but for now I’m keeping my bucket list short, with hopes to check the three destination off and add more.

Another goal on my bucket list is to learn how to snowboard. I will be very honest in saying the main reason I want to learn how to snowboard is to have an excuse to go out west to Colorado, Utah, etc. I think those places are a new level of beautiful with the mountains and views. I also think snowboarding would be a fun hobby to take up and allow me to have something to do during the boring, winter months of Ohio! ALSO, it seems safer than skiing in my mind. I don’t know if that’s true or not, but in my brain, it’s logical. There’s not much to say about this bucket list goal because it’s pretty simple: I want to learn to snowboard.

Panic! At The Disco Concert
The last thing I want to discuss that is on my bucket list is going to a music festival. I have been to more concert in my life than I can count on my fingers. My very first concert I saw was Cheap Trick with my family. Ever since then, I’ve been a feign for concerts. I’ve been to both big concerts and small shows, but the one thing I haven’t done is been to a music festival. I always hear advertisements on the radio for the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas. I realize it probably wouldn’t be very fun to go to Las Vegas until reaching the age of 21, but I’ve been dreaming of going for several years now. Since being in college, I’ve also heard of big music festivals that people rage about: Blossom Music Festival, Breakaway Music Festival and Country Concert. These all take place in Ohio so I don’t have a good reason for not going to any of them yet. Another simple goal that takes little explaining: I love music, I love concerts and I want to go to a music festival.

I don’t think any of these things on my bucket list are unreasonable or unrealistic. I think they are quite achievable if I put effort into going out and doing them. Exploring the world and learning new things can be scary or hard, but I think anything you try once is worth it. Some goals are my attainable than others, but I’m determined to cross everything off my bucket list and continuing to add to it as I go through life.

  1. Morgan,

I think your bucket list sounds amazing! I would be more than willing to tag along if you would let me! Haha My bucket list also includes a lot of traveling. I love the feeling of entering a new state and thinking, "wow, I am not from here. This is another person's normal!" Of course, that is weird but to be, it is a cool feeling. I hope you get to check everything off of your bucket list someday!

  2. I would definitely agree that I too have a bucket list and for a while I didn't realize I had it. Along with yours, I would love to someday learn how to snowboard and a music festival is at the top of my list for sure. Your bucket list sounds like a lot of fun but it sounds like it could take some time so I think it's best to start working now.
